Talkspace launched in 2012 with a focus on text-based therapy, letting users write to their therapist at any time and receive responses throughout the day. The platform has since added live video and audio sessions and now covers psychiatry as well, so you can get a diagnosis and a prescription managed without switching to a different service.
For working adults with employer benefits, Talkspace is one of the few subscription-style platforms where your health plan may cover all or part of the cost. It contracts with a wide range of insurance carriers and EAP programs. The couples therapy option assigns a dedicated therapist to both partners and works through shared messaging and joint video sessions.
