Talkiatry

Talkiatry restricts its clinician network to MD and DO psychiatrists rather than mixing in primary care providers or psychiatric nurse practitioners. That means the person evaluating you for antidepressants, ADHD medication, or mood stabilizers holds a full medical degree and a psychiatry residency. The in-network model keeps costs close to a standard copay for most patients, and the 60-minute initial appointment gives providers time to take a real history rather than rushing through a symptom checklist.

The main limits to know going in: Talkiatry doesn’t serve patients in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, North Dakota, or Wyoming, and it accepts no self-pay. If you have Medicaid or no insurance, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Children ages 5 and up are eligible, which is unusual for a telehealth psychiatry practice.
