It is an excellent free resource for people who value national certification and want to ensure their counselor meets NBCC's professional standards.

It is less useful if you are looking for a specific type of therapy or a counselor who specializes in a particular issue, since the directory has no specialty filter. It is also limited if you live in a rural area where very few NBCC-certified counselors may be listed. It is not a telehealth platform and does not connect you to counselors directly, it simply provides contact information and you manage the outreach from there.
